Description
Protective glass for laser machine. Used in Raytools® laser machines and heads (BT210S, BT240S, BM109, BM110, BM111, BS04K, BD04K, BM06K), Bodor® (GN2A, GN3A) to protect the internal parts of the optical head of a laser machine cutting and welding metal with fiber and solid-state laser. Also suitable for heads from other manufacturers where this standard size is used.
The protective glass is a plane-parallel window 24.9 mm in diameter, 1.5 mm thick, are installed in front of the lens and serve as a barrier between the lens and the working area. Works stably at a laser generation wavelength of 1064 nm. Bandwidth: 99.5%. The radiation resistance of the protective coating is 20 kW/cm2. Designed for working with lasers power up to 6 kW.
Advantages of using protective glasses from KAMITEKA:
- High temperature resistance thanks to high quality imported material,
- Large degree of laser beam transmission due to a technologically advanced double-sided antireflection coating
- Long service life,
- High efficiency.
Made with an antireflective coating applied to both surfaces in compliance with all necessary quality standards, technical and geometric parameters of products of this type. As a result of application, the protective glass guarantees the preservation of design parameters for a long time and ensures high operating power of the laser cutting equipment.
The appearance of the glass may differ from what is indicated in the image.
How do you know if it’s time to change the protective glass in the collimation module?
A protective glass installed in the area where the laser beam enters the head, — is not just the first optical barrier. Its condition directly affects the focus, trajectory and efficiency of the entire cutting or welding system. And if it loses its properties, failures begin already at the start of the optical path.
Power drop with stable parameters
If you notice that the laser cuts worse, burning takes longer, and cutting parameters have not changed — check the collimator protective glass. Even the finest dust, microdroplets of oil or slight cloudiness can cause partial absorption or dispersion of the incoming beam, reducing its power from the very beginning.
Disturbance of focus uniformity
Loss of focal spot stability, difficulty pointing, or uneven cut width — are signs of a distorted beam. The protective glass of the collimation unit may be contaminated unnoticed by the eye, but this is enough to break the symmetry of the beam and lead to defocusing already at the collimation stage.
Rainbow stains and dark areas
These traces are the result of overheating or prolonged exposure to a high-power beam on a poorly cleaned glass surface. It is especially important when operating at capacities above 6 kW without proper air filtration. Rainbow spots or darkened areas create inhomogeneity of refraction and lead to energy dissipation.
Beam shift or change of direction
If even after setting the cut turns out to be «offset», perhaps the problem is the refractive effect of the contaminated glass. In a collimation module, this is especially critical: glass affects the geometry of the beam at the input, and any distortion of it can lead to a «oblique» beam at the output.
- Check the glass regularly when changing material or every 1–2 shifts.
- Do not allow flight to form — especially after copper, aluminum or rust billets.
- At the first sign of unstable focusing — first of all, check the input glass of the collimator.
Remember: high-quality collimation — is not only lenses, but also the purity of the optical circuit from the very beginning. Do not allow fine contaminants to block the entire laser.
